10 år med Konstrundan på Kungsholmen – en helg av konst, gemenskap och oväntad hemkänsla

10 years of Konstrundan on Kungsholmen – a weekend of art, community and an unexpected sense of home

It's hard to believe that it's already been ten years since I conceived the idea for Konstrundan on Kungsholmen and, together with a few enthusiastic, creative souls, founded the non-profit art association 12 Broar. The idea was simple then: to open doors to art and creativity, to create encounters between people and provide space for all the artistic expressions that might otherwise remain unseen. Now looking back and seeing what a force it has become – with a whopping 45 exhibitors in this year's edition – feels both surreal and fantastic. The picture above is from the humble beginnings, when everything was still a small seed.

This weekend's 10th anniversary was something very special. We got to experience Riddarfjärden's vocal ensemble at Kulturhuset – a magical moment where they also quoted my own words about why Konstrundan was once started. As if that wasn't enough, they also sang Jämtland's wedding march. Completely unaware that I myself come from Jämtland! For me it was like a greeting from home, and a reminder that a little bit of Jämtland is now actually here on Kungsholmen.

Seeing how the community has come together around the Konstrundan makes me proud. Our non-profit association 12 broar has been given the opportunity to hold the art tour at Kulturhuset Kungsholmen – a place that truly carries culture within its walls. And thanks to Alecta Fastigheter , who generously made a space available, we have been able to offer both an exhibition and creative workshops during the week before.

The results speak for themselves: over 700 visitors came during the weekend. Kungsholmen was filled with art, creativity and life. It was yet another proof of the growth potential that exists when people come together and build something together. It not only benefits culture and community, but also local life and the economy.

I leave the weekend with a sense of gratitude and faith in the future. Art can truly unite, surprise and create a sense of home in the most unexpected ways. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this 10th anniversary an unforgettable experience.

Here I also share Johan Björk's film from the weekend - a nice memory to return to:

Thank you, Kungsholmen , for becoming a home for art – and for me. ❤️
